SUMMER CAMP
Each summer GESS LAB hosts a weeklong camp for children ages 10 - 14 that has met with great success in the past few years. Participants get an introduction to scuba diving, visit Limanu and Bat Caves, take field trips, conduct microscope observations, take part in fun experiments and learn about the local environment and the importance of conservation.

SUMMER WORKSHOP FOR RESEARCHERS
June 4th - 9th, 2018: GESS Lab hosted a 5 day summer workshop for the researchers of the "Emil Racovitza" Institute of Speleology that consisted of
visits to Limanu Cave, field research in the area, collecting of fauna and a series of lectures held by Cristian Lascu, Serban Sarbu and Alexandra Hillebrand-Voiculescu. Dr. Elena Iorgu from the "Grigore Antipa" National Museum of Natural History held a lecture on the subjects of Molecular Genetics, DNA Sequencing and Molecular Phylogeny.
INTERNATIONAL ASELLUS WORKSHOP
June 11th - 16th, 2018: GESS Lab hosted a workshop for a group of international researchers on the subject of Asellus aquaticus infernus, an endemic species found in Movile Cave and the adjacent sulfur aquifer.
The workshop consisted of field research in the area, collecting of fauna
in various wells and a series of lectures and discussions.
Lead researcher for this workshop was Dr. Serban Sarbu
SUMMER WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS
Each July: GESS Lab hosts a summer workshop for a group of students from the Veterinary School of Medicine from the University of Cluj. This consists of an Open Water Scuba Diver course as well as field research in the area. The students are accompanied by Professor Cristin Borda.
The Open Water Diver course is held by GESS members and scuba diving instructors Mihai Baciu and Andreea Cohn of SubAquaSport Dive Center
